The Great Fire of Rome

The Great Fire

The Great Fire of Rome began in 64 CE on the night of July 18th. It completely devastated Rome. The fire started in the slums of Rome, but then went to the richer parts of Rome, even though they were separated by a wall. The exact place that it started was around a large entertainment area called the Circus Maximus. The fire went on for six days, then died down, then came back up again.
